How to: Slim DvD RW replacement & faceplate change
My slim DvD RW pooped out on me a while ago and I had been dragging my feet to buy a new one (lots of $$’s). But, I finally broke down and bought a nice slim to take the place of my malfunctioning unit. Sadly, the new slim DvD RW was just a centimeter or two too short and the slim drive wasn’t wanting to close. Both drives seemed like they were the same size, but the face plates were the only things that were different thicknesses. The new slim drive face plate was very thin. SO! I switched the face plates. And now everything is happy. + I’m happy. Here’s how I did it.
First straighten a paper clip. This is going to be inserted into the manual eject slot (little hole in the front).

Once you’ve ejected the drive you gently pull out the drive. This may be different depending on your laptop. I have a Dell XPS M1210 and I simply pulled the drive out. No unscrewing needed. I think this is the way most laptops are.

Once you’ve gotten to this point to switch the face plates you gently give the faceplate a series of tugs. BECAREFUL! You can easily break off the faceplate tabs (This will render your slim DvD RW nearly useless or at least super annoying)

Once you’ve pulled off the faceplate it should look like this. Now snap on your new faceplate and enjoy
Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare
Wowz. Quite an amazing game. This first person shooter is set apart by it’s realistic qualities and fast pace speed and also that all fighting and weaponry is set in the present. Which is a nice turn from the WWII genres that Call of Duty had stuck with in the past. I’m most impressed with the lighting effects, explosion effects, and vision focus/blur effects. While mixed in with the beautiful photo like reality it simulates a near real battle area. The multiplayer utilizes a level up system which follows similar ranks to military ranks. With each ranking you have the possibility of getting different items or skills that can be used to your advantage. This game makes other FPS’s look like a joke.
No commentsQuickSilverScreen = Movies

Quicksilverscreen.com is quite remarkable. Free movie streams to your computer and the best part is that you don’t have to sign up for ANYTHING. As long as you have DivX or DivX plugin for Mozilla Firefox you can simply click on the movie/tv show/cartoon you’d like to watch and it is all streamed to your computer! ZOMGOSH! Another + is that you get to watch movies that haven’t come out on DVD yet some movies are still in theaters when they are posted on the site. The downside to quicksilver is that the movies posted don’t often last long. They end up being removed from the site. I think this is done so that they can keep server space? I don’t know, but what I do know is that I’m a fan of Quicksilver and you should check it out!
